Tender Mercies

An English Breakthrough!

This week was full of things….one of my favorites is Sister Sainan had an English break through!!!!! Like one morning she woke up and could understand 90% rather than 50% of what everyone is saying! That day we had a lesson with this man and it was really hard to follow his random comments and Sister Sai understood! Yay! The Lord is real and can perform mighty miracles! All we need is a little faith and to ask, He will always deliver!
Also I’ve been out on my mission for a whole year! Can you belive that? We celebrated with the 4 for 4 at Wendy’s. Seriously the best thing they could have invented! I went back no read my first journal entry and man have I come a far way. Though I feel like I blinked and it was gone. I’m excited and ready to work really hard these last 6 months! I feel so privileged to have seen so many tender mercies in such a short amount of time! I also finished the Book of Mormon on my year mark! I’ve been reading trying to answer the questions of the soul….by the end I realized only through the Spirit and the words of God can answer your deepest questions, like is there a God, Is Jesus the Christ, How can my family be happy? I could give our investigators all the answers, but it is when we find the answers ourselves with the spirit that makes the most lasting impact. I feel so grateful to have this opportunity to serve! I thank Heavenly Father everyday!
We have been struggling to find people that are interested in learning about God. So I think we will try and get creative or just literally talk to every human being in our area. Someone has to be searching for something more in their life. The gospel fills a hole you’ve been trying to fill with worldly things. The world can’t fill our soul, but the Lord can.
I love you all! I know Christ is the way and the only way by which we can live with our families for eternity! Alma 5:45-47

Super Great Week!

It has been a really good week! We’ve been pushing ourselves with high goals. Some people are mean. Don’t be mean. But many people are just such a blessing. Saturday we didn’t have a dinner bc the ward was having a beach party that we of course couldn’t go to and we stopped by a less actives that evening and they invited us to stay for dinner! I’ve never had such good BBQ in my life! Seriously that man could win one of those cooking shows on TV. It was fun we got to help out with cooking and just talk and enjoy yummy things. Dad I vote you get a smoker so we can make delicious food when I get home๐Ÿ˜Š
The gospel really does change people. I’ve recognized that a lot this week. I liked a comment shared in sacrament meeting this week. Guilt is not to discourage us, but to encourage us to do better. If you’ve messed up know you have a loving Savior who paid the price so you can try again. Never give up! Don’tย let your faults keep you from progressing, let your faults push you to get back up and try again. I know the Atonement is real. I know forgiveness is real. And I know it is essential for peace and happiness in our lives. I love you all so so much!!!!! Stay by the tree & stay strong
Sherrill was baptized!!! I’m not sure if I’ve told y’all her story.
Inย my last area Sister Carter and I were lost. We were looking for
someone who had met with missionaries in the past and just couldn’t

find their address. So we see this woman in her garage (Sherrill) and

we stop and ask for directions. And she was no help in finding the

address, but of course we try to share the gospel and she doesn’t seem

interested at all. But Sister Carter felt prompted to go back so I

think we went back 2-3 times. This whole time I’m thinking there is no

way this woman will progress. She would just talk to us a little bit

on the door step. I then got transfered and heard from the

missionaries Sherrill is reading the Book of Mormon….Sherrill let us

in her house….we had an amazing lesson with Sherrill…Sherrill came

to church….Sherrill finished the Book of Mormon….Sherrill is

getting baptized!!!! and now she is as happy as can be! Seriously just

has a solid testimony! You never know what the Lord can do!!! He has a

hand in literally everything!!! It was so good to be back in the

hills! I’ve missed that ward so much it just made me so happy to see

many wonderful people again! I feel so blessed to have watched the Lord work mighty miracles in Sherrill’s life!!!ย

Surprise Visitors!

This week was interesting! Lots going on! We have a lesson tonight
with a friend we made at 7-11 . We have a lot of lessons set up for
next week that I’m really excited for. We helped the STLs clean out
their new apartment, the Elders who lived there before didn’t do a
great job of cleaning the place up haha. Oh and today we helped the
Tornow’s move some dry wall, which is incredibly heavy. I helped carry
4 pieces ๐Ÿ’๐Ÿผ๐Ÿ’ช๐Ÿผy’all they were really heavy. Oh we had a surprise
visit this week! That was exciting to see the Nelson’s. Brother Nelson
left a very special prayer/ blessing with us. THEY ARE SO AWESOME!!
Sorry this email is super short, but we have so much going on today!!!
I love you all! Stay Strong!!

My new favorite quote: “President George Q. Cannon once taught: โ€œNo
matter how serious the trial, how deep the distress, how great the
affliction, [God] will never desert us. He never has, and He never
will. He cannot do it. It is not His character [to do so]. โ€ฆ He will
[always] stand by us. We may pass through the fiery furnace; we may
pass through deep waters; but we shall not be consumed nor
overwhelmed. We shall emerge from all these trials and difficulties
the better and purer for them.โ€

biggest spider!!! ๐Ÿ™€

Sending Smiles

Missionary work is hard, but sooo awesome! We saw many tender mercies
this week and hopefully many people with potential! There was a family
history Family Home Evening some of the members invited us to and
brought along Sam. It was so exciting to see him get started! He got
his limited use recommend this week and will be going to the temple
soon! We are meeting with him and the most awesome member this week to
help him find some names to take before he goes. Last minute like
literally a minute before the embers hosting it asked me to give a
spiritual thought. I prayed for inspiration and the Spirit brought to
remembrance a scripture I just read a few days ago! Did you know in 3
Nephi family history is brought up! I had read the verse before I just
never realized Christ had also said it. It must be super important!
The chapters were talking about how Christ fulfilled the law and the
covenant will be fulfilled later on! And hey we have it today! I love
learning about covenants I’m the scriptures it is fascinating to me.
Justen will not be getting baptized. He feels we really helped him get
back on track with God, which is good enough for now๐Ÿ˜Š we literally
did everything we could.
The little less active family we’ve been working with has been doing
so well! They aren’t less active anymore that’s for sure! She hasn’t
been to church in 3 years and all we had to do was knock on her door
and invite her! She and her daughter bore testimony yesterday and it
was the best thing๐Ÿ˜Š seeing the mom and the daughter. Saturday we
actually went to the sharing closet and to a baptism with them. It was
a fun day. Also sister Carter And Paulson came over for cleaning
checks and surprised me with a birthday party. Lol a little late but
was so sweet and we made shrimp and mom I used that shrimp boil we
usually use and all the sudden we all could not stop coughing. Like
some power of something came into the air and it would just kill you.
It was really funny we were all just coughing and laughing haha.
We started our Book of Mormon study class this week! It went really
well and people showed up! Lots of missionaries in our area are
leaving! I will miss them all so much! And one of my favorite people
is leaving her mission today! She is all done! I cannot believe it! I
haven’t really had anyone super close to leave yet, it’s rough saying
goodbye. I just absolutely love my mission. I know Christ is the wAy,
the only way.
Look for the Lord’s hand in your week. If you can’t see it, your eyes
are closed ๐Ÿ˜‰
Stay strong!
